Sugaring Off at Hart House Farm

Details (weather-dependent): Students and Hart House Members are invited to celebrate winter's wind-down at Hart House Farm. Explore the grounds, visit the sugar shack and experience the sap-to-syrup process, topped off with a vegan feast by the Hot Yam! Pick up some new skills in the vegan baking workshop, featuring the Farm's own maple syrup (available for sale year-round at the Hall Porters' desk). Sugaring Off makes the most of the spring thaw!

- Tapping the Hart House Farm Sugar Bush
- Vegan baking workshop by the Hot Yam!
- Craft workshop
- Hiking through the property’s trails
- Exploring the farm’s caves and crevasses
- Relaxing in the sauna
When: Sat. Mar. 24 (Date is weather dependent.)
Buses depart from Hart House (7 Hart House Circle) at 11am (arrive at Farm at 12pm).
Buses depart from Farm at 7pm (arrive at Hart House at 8pm).

Cost: Early bird up until Mar. 16: $20 per person (including bus and taxes).
After Mar. 16: $25 per person (including bus and taxes).
Children under 12 years travel for free
Please note that no children under 18 months will be allowed on bus; any young child on the bus must be able to sit up on their own (support their own weight) and have a parent/caregiver sitting beside them.

Special instructions for participants:
- Activities include vegan baking workshop, craft workshop, farm tour, hiking trails, relaxing in sauna, and of course, sugaring off!
- Lunch and dinner will be provided– please indicate if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies.
- Bring warm clothing to enjoy the outdoor activities.
- Bring swimming attire to enjoy sauna, or to cool off in the spring-fed ponds (no lifeguards are on duty so swim with a “buddy” or group).
- Pets are not permitted at the Farm.
