Breaking Down Barriers
Come join Hart House and Students for Barrier-free Access in celebrating a week of excitement, education and empowerment!
Mon. March 14: Movie Night at Hart House | Hart House Library, 6:00-9:00PM
The touching movie, Temple Grandin (feat. Clara Danes), will be shown in the beautiful Hart House Library. Closed captioning will be provided.
Tues. March 15: ARCH Disability Workshop | Hart House Committees Room, 2:00-3:30PM
Executive Director Ivana Petricone of ARCH Disability Law Centre will facilitate a free legal workshop that will focus on the topics of accommodation and disclosure in the workplace.
ASL interpretation will be provided.
Wed. March 16: Wheelchair Basketball | Hart House Gym, 7:00-9:00PM
Staff, students and faculty members are invited out for an exhilarating game of wheelchair basketball. Whether you use a wheelchair regularly or not, all are welcome.
Thurs. March 17: Accessibility Workshop | Hart House Committees Room, 5:30-7:30PM
Develop skills to assist in making events and experiences inclusive and accessible. Leave feeling more comfortable with your knowledge about accessibility.
Fri. March 18: Wrap-up Dance Party | Hart House Debates Room, 8:00PM-Midnight
SBA and Able York will be co-hosting this event, featuring Keys to the Studio - original music from people diagnosed with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The event will be catered, with live music followed by a DJ.
All AAW events are free and open to all students, staff, faculty and community members.
