Allegra Fulton is a multi award-winning actress whose career spans film, television and theatre on both sides of the border.
Recently seen in Toronto in Tout Comme Elle (Luminato/ Necessary Angel) and in Jennifer Tremblay’s Governor Generals prize winning one-woman show The List, she garnered critical praise and was called “A national treasure”. Last year in Los Angeles she was heralded for her performances Kate in The Taming of the Shrew (A Noise Within ~Falstaff Award Nomination) and Goneril in King Lear (Antaeus Classical Co.-Best Actress Nomination LA Critics Awards).
Other recent theatre includes: The Stratford Shakespeare Festival, The Comedy of Errors as Adriana and The Oddysey as Penelope, Circe and Helen of Troy. Scorched (Tarragon Theatre), Geometry in Venice (Segal Centre/Crow’s Theatre), The Play’s The Thing (SoulPepper Theatre), and Michel Tremblays’ Les Belles Soeurs (Canadian Stage Company), Marcel Pursued by the Hounds and Counterservice (Tarragon Theatre).
Ms. Fulton has earned international acclaim as Frida Kahlo in her one-woman tour de force Frida K, performing and garnering awards in New York, Toronto, Mexico City and across Canada, including a Dora Mavor Moore Award for outstanding performance.
Her extensive credits in television/film include the Showtime series Streetime, The Nine and Celeste in the City (ABC), Riding the Bus with My Sister and Black and Blue (CBS), Two Against Time (NBC), Dirty Pictures (HBO), Loonie (Actra Award Nomination and Best Actor Award Cabbagetown International Film Festival), Blue Murder (Gemini Award Nomination) as well as The Hangman's Bride (Genie Award winner/co-writer).
