About: Ashleigh is a Toronto based teacher and choreographer. Her extensive dance training began in Ottawa at the Kanata Ballet School. She is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, the Cecchetti Society and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and currently teaches in the Professional and Associates programs at the National Ballet School. Recently, she had the pleasure of teaching regular classes the young men playing the role of Billy Elliot in the Toronto Mirvish production. Ashleigh is the recipient of both the Carole Chadwick Award and the Betty Oliphant Award for teaching and holds an Honours Degree in History and Sociology from the University of Toronto.
