Nigel Bennett - Tennessee Williams

Nigel has worked widely in theatre both in Canada and the UK. His credits include two seasons at the Stratford Festival as well as work in the West End of London. Elsewhere he has appeared in Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf, The Goat, Retreat From Moscow, The Price, A Few Good Men, Art, Closer,  amlet, and Scrooge for Neptune Theatre Halifax, Blithe Spirit and The Three Sisters for Atlantic Theatre Festival and The Parrsboro Boxing Club for Ships Company Theatre. He appeared in Medea at the Canon Theatre for the Mirvishes.

On television and film he has been a series regular in five Canadian series including Mannering in The Border,  Elsinger in Psi Factor, Prince in Lexx and Lacroix in Forever Knight. At present he appears as Inspector Giles in Murdoch Mysteries. He has appeared on the big screen in Murder at 1600 with Wesley Snipes, The Skulls with Joshua Jackson, and Narrow Margin with Gene Hackman.

He is a four time Gemini nominee and one time winner, twelve time Merritt Award nominee, and twice a winner of the ACTRA Maritimes award for best actor. He has co-authored three novels: Keeper of the King, His Fathers Son, and Siege Perilous.

He is married and lives with his wife actress Stacy Smith and daughter in Stratford.
