FEBRUARY 17 | Parker Abbott Piano Duo
Two pianists with strong backgrounds in jazz, classical, and pop; Teri Parker and Simeon Abbott first played together in Abbott’s song-writing project, but with over 35 years of keyboard experience between them they soon found common ground on their shared instrument and have performed at some of Canada’s top jazz clubs.
MARCH 2 | Jim Lewis Jazz Orchestra
Led by the University of Toronto's own faculty member Jim Lewis, this big band orchestra is comprised of other faculty talent. Come and hear long time favourites and old standards done over with a big band sound.
MARCH 9 | Terry Promane Jazz Orchestra
The Terry Promane Jazz Orchestra features students from the University of Toronto's music faculty performing with all the youthful energy of a new generation of jazz aficionados.
MARCH 16 | PMU 156 – 456 Y1 Big Band
On Friday, March 16th at 9pm, Jazz at Oscar's presents PMU 156 - 456 Y1: a big band directed by Jehanbakhsh (John) Jasavala and featuring members of the Faculty of Music, Performance and Music Education Divisions at U of T.
MARCH 23 | Skule Stage Band
Offering a wide variety of tunes including swing, latin, ballads and funk, the Engineering Faculty's stage band never fails to bring a crowd to its feet.
MARCH 30 | Hart House Jazz Ensemble
This group is a campus mainstay, but also joins local music festivals including the Greater Toronto and Canada Music Fest where they received recognition for their performance in the Instrumental Jazz Division.
